Chapter 12: Intergration the Organization From End-To-End - ERP

Question: Describe the business value of integrating supply chain management, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning system.

SCM, CRM, ERP are the backbone of e-business also the integration allows the unlocking of information to make it available to any user, anywhere, anytime. Lastly, the integration of these applications is the access for many campaigns.

The CRM is focused on the customer of the organization. The primary users of CRM enterprise application are sales, marketing and customer service. The benefits are sale forecasts, sales strategies and marketing campaigns.
For example: Wall’s is an ice cream company that promote their new ice cream by giving to the people that passing by with no charge at all at Bukit Bintang. This situation is similar to the Nestle company that promote Milo drink to school students with free of charge.

SCM only goes to supply chain partners only. Its primary users are customers, resellers partner suppliers and distributors. Market demand, resource and capacity constraints and real-time scheduling are the primary business benefits.
For example : Recently, there are oil turbulence in our country, this is relate to the capacity constraints where all the goods price increasing along to the oil price increase.

The ERP is relate to the enterprise resource planning is relate to the internal department. Accounting. finance, logistic and production are the primary user. For the employees of the business benefit are forecasting, planning, purchasing, material management, warehousing, inventory and distribution.
For example: to determine where an order is at any point in time, a user only needs to login to the ERP system and track it down.
